The client was looking to explore the feasibility of building a small downtown tasting room to support their wine production business in Palisade. I worked with them to generate initial massing studies and design concepts, looking at program development and layout as well as phasing and budgeting. We also met with the city to discuss site constraints and zoning issues.
Materially, a brick building anchoring this prominent corner felt like the right strategy as it could reference the other historic buildings downtown while expressing this durable material in a modern way. I helped them establish the mood they were looking for, both for the interior tasting room and the various outdoor spaces.
